Lets Encrypt certificate issued to domain shown in browser
Hi,
I have an account on my server created with a subdomain "mysub.example.com".
I then park a domain on it: "sample.com"
I use AutoSSL to generate an SSL cert for the account (using Lets Encrypt).
When I view "sample.com" in the browser, (Firefox or Chrome) it shows as secure by the browser (lock symbol in URL bar).
But if I click the lock symbol and view the certificate info, the Issued To field shows "mysub.example.com".
If I view the details of the certificate in this dialog window, I can find the "sample.com" listed in the Subject Alternate Names field along with other subdomains for this domain, including "mysub.example.com".
It all works, but for users visiting their site and checking the certificate, it may be confusing to not see the domain name showing in their URL bar as the one listed as "Issued to" in the certificate window.
Is this something to do with Lets Encrypt? Is there a way I should be configuring something in AutoSSL to make the domain name the one that appears as the "Issued to" domain in the browser?
Thanks!

Hi @swbrains This is the way that certificates are issued with Let's Encrypt and the Comodo provider when it comes to parked domains or any domain that shares a VirtualHost. If the domain has it's own VirtualHost it should be issued its own certificate. 0 -
