Setup backups for off server storage?

Whilst several remote destinations are pre-configured - see Backup Configuration - Version 74 Documentation - cPanel Documentation - I believe the built-in backup solution in WHM first creates ALL the backup files on the local file system before transferring them to a remote destination, so if you are short on server disk space, the backup may fail. There are several forum threads about this, and probably a number of Feature Requests; to create each user backup separately, and then transfer it to the remote file storage, rather than create the whole backup first and then start the transfer. This would significantly reduce the amount of available disk space that the server would need, but I have no idea if this feature is being worked on or even planned. You might have to think about using an external service like R1Soft or some other remote backup specialist.

Hi @maysam As indicated by @rpvw the cPanel backup system first creates the backups on the system then transports them remotely. If you want to check out some of the feature requests and vote on them here are a couple: Full remote backup support with rsync To avoid the load on the server, there is a make offer to find a way generate the backup on the remote server.
