What kind of backup is this?
I backed up my entire web site earlier this year, planning to wipe my blog and restart. Instead of doing a WordPress export, which wouldn't have preserved the images and media, I pulled some sort of full backup, but I can't determine what kind of backup this is. Now I need to restore it, because there are some posts I want out of my archives, but I don't know what kind of backup this is.
The file structure doesn't match a cPanel backup or a Softaculous backup.
The file name is backup-10.6.2017_10-48-24_xxxxxxx.tar.gz, where xxxxxxx is my cPanel login ID.
I tried restoring via cPanel anyway, but that only extracts the .tar.gz archive to a directory underneath the root...not helpful.
Softaculous doesn't detect it as a valid backup when I upload it to /home/softaculous_backups.
Any ideas what kind of backup this might be, so I can find out how/where to restore it?

That's a full cpanel backup file. If you run your server you can stick it in /home and use whms restore full backup or cpmove file option. If you dont run the server you can contact your hosting provider to do it for you. 0 -
