Need help with using a dedicated IP to send email

What would be the proper reverse DNS for a cPanel account using a dedicated IP? Would it point to the server hostname or the domain name used the for the account?

  HI @WebHostPro In all cases using the hostname of the server for the rDNS is standard practice. The dedicated IP situation is the only point in time which I would say you can use the domain name for the rDNS but you need to keep track that IP is always used for that domain for sending mail. It seems that it could become pretty bulky and difficult to maintain if you had enough separate domains set up this way.

  Thanks, yeah I can see how we'll have to do more to update and keep track of rDNS but anything to help email. So many free services have a billion filters trying to block spam. So annoying.

  Hi @WebHostPro Well technically having the hostname of the server set as the rDNS for all IP's shouldn't require a ton of maintenance. It should be just as acceptable as separating them. The only downfall you run into is if you're doing separate rDNS per IP, you leave yourself with many potential points of failure in the event that some portion of the configuration changes.
