Wp-content files missing
Hi
I'm working on a website for a client. I transferred his domain from his old registrar to the one I use, 1&1. However, the started goving a blank page after the transfer was complete. He was running a wordpress. I checked the cpanel file manager and found the wp-content folder completely missing. I checked on the softaculous wordpress installation and it kept giving a database connection error. I just started managing the hosting for this client, so I don't have a full history of what's been done on the site. However, the site was up before the transfer and now its not and the wordpress files are missing.
How do I recover the wordpress files?

Hello @Nyke, Can you provide some more information about the transfer? For instance, did you only transfer the domain name itself, or did you transfer the entire cPanel account using Web Host Manager >> Transfer Tool? If you do not have root access to the system, then I recommend contacting your web hosting provider to see they can transfer the cPanel account from the previous server to the new one. Otherwise, you'd need to follow the instructions for a manual WordPress migration at: Moving WordPress " WordPress Codex Thank you. 0 -
@Nyke if your unable to restore from a backup another option might be to find yourWordPress version and download the respective version from WordPress releases: Releases | WordPress.org and then manually upload the wp-content folder that will at least get your install working. 0
