Hi @brand_land Can you clarify this question? I'm not sure I understand what you're asking to do.

Hi @brand_land Can you clarify this question? I'm not sure I understand what you're asking to do.

I want to move some of the websites I have in a hosting to another server, so I want to backup the emails so that I can move each website to a new hosting, do I have to copy the mail folder then recreate each email or there's another way ? Thank you

Really the best way to move from one server to another is by using the transfer tool which will move mail along with all other site data for you - Transfer Tool - Version 74 Documentation - cPanel Documentation If that's not an option for you the best other way would be to use the cPanel backup tool at cPanel>>Files>>Backup Wizard take a full backup and restore it on the new server. I wouldn't recommend just moving the folder for mail as there could be ownership/permissions issues

Is this a really big account? The timeout is probably being forced on the receiving end, so you may want to increase the timeout settings on that end.

I don't have WHM access to use Transfer tool, and about the other method, I'm trying it to an ftp account but I always have timeout after a couple of hours of "in progress", I contacted the hosting company (Go daddy) support but they said they can't help me.

Is this to upload or download the files? You might try to download directly from the file manager it may take some time but you may not encounter the timeouts, likewise regarding uploading. If this is an issue uploading the backup I'd suggest speaking to your new provider about how you get your backups on their server so that you can use your new hosting.

I'm trying to download the backup from my hosting to my new VPS, I'm using full website backup. I want the mail folders as well, is there another way to download a full backup without using the file manager as I have 54 GB and more than 30 websites to move, it's a bit hard to move all of them from the file manager.

You should get in touch with your Hosting Provider and ask them about moving the accounts for you from the old server to the new server. That's the best way to go. Even if you download the Full Website Backup from the old server, and upload it to the new server, yourself, you'll still need their help to restore that backup on the new server.

I already tried that but they said they can't do anything I even tried talking to different agents but same result.

With that sort of response from GoDaddy, I think we're missing some important details here. When you generate a Full Website Backup, all of your emails, and Addon Domains (I'm assuming the "54 GB and more than 30 website" that you mention are all on one cPanel account?) are included in that backup. Are all "54 GB and more than 30 website" on one cPanel account? If that account has 54 GB account space used, how much free space do you have left? Are you able to generate a Full Website Backup without using the transfer to remove FTP option? In other words, generate the backup and leave it on that account. Are you able to do that? You'd need a very large account to do that, of course. Are you trying to move to a new GoDaddy account, or to a whole new GoDaddy server? We're going to need a lot more details in order to assist you with sorting this out I believe.

Yes, they are all on one cPanel account but most of them are just static html websites, and no I don't have much free space, do I have to have free space for that ? I mean aren't the files supposed to be copied directly to the FTP account or it makes a local backup file first then copies it to the ftp ? Yesterday I had a talk with one of the leads "as he said" in GoDaddy and he said that the full website backup feature simply doesn't work for security purposes, but if it doesn't work why is it there at all ?

    The latter.
GoDaddy and he said that the full website backup feature simply doesn't work for security purposes

That is just simply, untrue. Backups are your friend. Millions of websites are backed up using the cPanel backup system every night of the week. Mine included. If you're running so low on space that you are unable to backup the account, you've got a few choices. Clean up the account and remove old useless data to free up space, or, get a larger account and continue dealing with problems related to a bloated account with old useless data. If it's not useless data at all, you might consider moving some of the largest sites out of that account and into their own account(s) to free up space. You might also consider backing up only the most important files and excluding the rest. Say you had a directory of music, pdf, or image files that doesn't change often, from a backup: How to Exclude Files From Backups - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation Cleaning up the account to make it more easily managable is suggested. ;)
