Renewed SSL Certificate - IOS trust issue
Hi
we renewed a wildcard SSL certificate yesterday on our server and we now have IOS devices (phones, ipads, laptops) not trusting the certificate for mail connections.
The new wildcard certificate has replaced an existing wildcard certificate, and was applied to the Server Services (WHM Server Configuration > Manage Service SSL Certificates) with no error.
The client is obviously not happy about following the advice from apple support docs advising to delete and recreate the email accounts.
Is there another way?

Hi @CK2017 Unfortunately, if nothing changed in the certificate besides the renewal Apple's advice would be the best. I don't know how their internal system works but I would assume that it's cached the old certificate information. The deletion and recreation of the account would be the easiest way to remove any cached data. How long ago did the certificate renew? Did you renew it through the same company/same certificate type? Is the issue present on newly set up devices or non iOS? 0 -
The certificate was renewed 3 days before expiry with the same company and as the same type. Some of the Apple users were able press a Trust button that appeared with the warning message. However the warning message was enough to cause them not to do that. Many iPhone users could not see the option to manually trust the certificate. 0 -
Hi @CK2017 You might look at the following: Fixing the Cannot Verify Server Error in iPhone and iOS devices | Web Hosting Hub Email Security: SSL Trust Error in Email Applications But ultimately the Apple folks are going to know best how to manage their products. 0
