Issue with IP Blocker module
Hello from Greece,
I am website owner using cPanel Version 76.0 (build 14), Operating System linux, Perl Version 5.16.3, Kernel Version 3.10.0-514.21.2.el7.x86_64.
I am blogger and my website this is seven years old.
I do use IP-Blocker module so to keep out of my Blog unwanted internet traffic, but now I have a problem, the new issue is that several IP gets blocked them not be listed at htaccess file which is database of IP-Blocker module.
My web-hosting provider suspects that something is wrong with syntax of htaccess file, and that because of it the apache server does not handling properly IP-Block process.
Is it possible someone to inspect syntax of my htaccess file, so to see if there is something wrong with it ?

Hi @Kiriakos-GR From what it looks like you're blocking large ip ranges. That's what the 0/19, 0/22, etc., represent. Does the issue continue to occur when you remove the IP range blocks? Thanks! 0 -
Hi Lauren, Practically when htaccess file this is deleted then the server does not block anyone. As soon a new IP input inserted for block, IP Blocker this creates a fresh htaccess file. File header is much simpler: order allow, deny allow from all deny from xxx.xxx.xx.xx The question is why a greater number or blocked IP to cause at IP Blocker module such a reaction " malfunction. I have background of Windows 2000 Server MCSE, I am no programmer. My thoughts are that when IP Blocker module starts using CPU resources and memory so to do it work, then there is some sort of buffer overflow and it can not handle intensive workload. It would make sense if the developer of this module, was offering clear instructions as for example (Good to go up to 100 numbers of blocked IP). According my experiences, unwanted crawlers & spam-bot arrive at my server at groups of two or four all together. The one millions dollar question is if the developer of this module is willing to improve this software bugs? I did spent serious amount of time, inspecting htaccess file over and over so discover a human error so to free up specific IP of a friend and member at my forum. Right now I am 100% convinced that this module does not functioning well and some one should improve it. I had no other choice so to currently solve the problem other than to delete old htaccess file, and start over again. By choice I am not going to use CIDR Format again, its not that helpful when you do text search so to find specific IP instance in to a large list (by the use of the web browser - Firefox). My wish list for IP Blocker module this is simple. a) The module should better handle multitasking b) It must added a setting of default pages to review, every time I have to select of number of pages to view and then do some work, this does not help productivity. c) Import and export for backup of htaccess file it should be added. It took me two years of hard work to isolate threads by using dedicated pages which keep a record of poor reputation IP over the globe. d) I am aware that Cpanel offering also dedicated firewall solution, but I am not hosting-server owner, I just need to protect my very own webpage and property, I am content creator. 0
