Create DNS record for FQDN?

    Normally what I do is to actually create an account for mydomain.com and then add the appropriate subdomains to the master zone file. If you do not want to do that for some reason then you can just go to add DNS zone in whm and create a zone specifically for the hostname.

    Hello @jonh, By default, if a DNS zone for the parent domain does not exist, then a separate DNS zone for the hostname itself is created when using the "Add an A entry for your hostname" button when using WHM >> Change Hostname. A separate DNS zone for the hostname is suitable and will work as intended for local DNS resolution when the parent domain name is not added to the server. That said, you'll still want to manually add the "A" record for the server's hostname on the server that manages the DNS for the parent domain name. Thank you.
