Hi 3 days back i created Instance . created elastic private IP .. also associated with instances Elastic IP address ([removed]) Private IP [removed] that day i installed WHM and cpanel. everything done prity well.. using IP address i am able to login everything.. but when trying to run HTML page.. its showing 404 Not Found Please forward this error screen to [removed]'s [removed] The server can not find the requested page: error can you please help me in this how can i solve this issue ? [removed]

    I am new to cpanel. I've been running plesk for the last 18 years using virtuozzo so that I could put more than one virtual server on a dedicated hardware server. This has worked for years! Quite nicely at that. But now I want load balancing and clustering and an international CDN. I am assuming that I would have to lease the full price cpanel package at $40/mo. Even though I own Perpetual licenses for virtuoso. Would I save enough by switching to AWS to host a 300 site cpanel server to bury the difference? I have looked at the link you provided and the one thing I don't see in this may show my ignorance of AWS is where I can set the instance size. For example 64GB and then the caching. Are these even an issue on an AWS instance? Or is it dynamic? How about assigning IPs for dedicated IP sites? They do still exist. I have 30 servers to move over and I am growing impatient with my own lack of understanding cpanel. It seems as if I have to read one manual for this and another manual for that and then I have to understand how the new virtuozzo works and it's just a hassle. If I had stayed with plesk I could do it with my eyes closed. I switched to cpanel because of the many powerful features that it has. What vendors are even recommended for AWS? I've emailed AWS numerous times and never received a reply. I look forward to you directing me to an excellent source of information.

    Perhaps you are overthinking it we to have perpetual Virtouzzo Licenses which are now worthless AWS never came to mind when converting?? AWS is a infrastructure provider they will provide no support for you own setup. I cant see you saving any $$ from the little information you have provided the perhaps I am missing the full picture? Switching from a plesk VM environment to cpanel should Not be to terribly difficult (cpanel may even assist you?). VPS License's are cheaper and usually even cheaper if your provider is a cpanel partner. It seems its a AWS issue not a cpanel issues because basically cpanel & plesk in the end are just control panels.

    I'm not sure what you mean by overthinking things. We've already begun converting plus two cpanel. We have changed our business model from owning our own Hardware, which is substantial, to leasing space at a high-end Data Center. That's the question. They don't provide much support either so saying that AWS does not provide support isn't the issue. We support our own installations. What we don't support of course is if a hard drive goes out. That's when our data center kicks in with their support. We have perpetual licenses that were essentially cancelled and we're now forced to pay monthly for virtuozzo. We had perpetual licenses for Plesk itself only to upgrade and find that nearly everything was a paid add on. That was one of the reasons we switched from plesk. Our sales rep flat-out lied to us. He told us of the many great features that the new plesk had but failed to mention did they would cost $20 here, $10 there. 18 years of nothing but a hassle from Plesk support and then they sold pieces of the company away leaving a lack of continuity between virtuozzo and plesk. We are happy to switch to cpanel. The question is a financial question. Some servers get little use while others get more use. It's a balancing act. As a general statement would one say that it is more cost effective to use AWS? I know nothing of AWS instance creation and asked if things like memory use or dynamic. Since I can't get an answer directly from AWS I can't consider putting cpanel on it without asking somebody that's done it.

    I have not done it personally but some of our clients have used AWS in the past. You will just have use the AWS calculators to see if it works for you. cost per instance: storage, memory, BW elastic IP, Etc AS financial question each users requirements would be different. When we retired Virtuozzo we just migrated to openVZ the cost to move it into the cloud just the BW cost alone would be over $600 Mo so it made no sense to move it to AWS
