Hello @Michael A. The backup pruning process is failing because one or more of your backups failed to complete. In order to identify why they failed to complete you'd need to add a response with the portion of the backup log that details the failure message.

HI @Michael A. The error seems to be that there is a permissions error with creating hard links in the destination you've chosen: The system failed to create a hard link "/media/USB/EH02/2018-12-31/accounts/usercPanel/bandwidth_db.json.lock" to "/media/USB/EH02/2018-12-31/accounts/usercPanel/bandwidth_db.json.lock-10d17caad2f07-7c1c4113-76c6" because of an error: Operation not permitted
This means the system didn't or doesn't have the correct permissions to create a file here.

Why is this only affecting a few accounts from the hundreds ? What can I do? Help. Thanks.

Hi @Michael A. Is the remote destination at or near its capacity? Is there user specific quotas enabled?

  • Michael A.
No, it's 60% of the size of disk. What do you mean by user specific quotas enabled?

Hi @Michael A. Depending on how the filesystem is setup there are typically default quotas for users in place. If one of those users is meeting/exceeding their quota they wouldn't be able to store any more data. It's difficult to know without more information on why the backups aren't being created for one user but they are for the other. Please feel free to open a ticket using the link in my signature? Once open please reply with the Ticket ID here so that we can update this thread with the resolution once the ticket is resolved. Thanks!
