Email not working after License expiry
Hello,
My CPanel license expired yesterday. I was going to renew it but I just noticed that as soon as the license expired, email accounts stopped working which appears to be an authentication problem.
I am fully sure this is related to the license expiry. What I'm curious about is, is this a new policy of CPanel to force license renewals? If not, is this a bug? I'm not sure how to fix this. The server should be able to function properly with or without a license. I see a similar thread has been posted recently: After Cpanel expired my emails are not working | Web Hosting Talk
My CPanel was up to date, it's not an old version issue. So what is this?
I'll appreciate any input.
Thank you

Well that thread has been marked SOLVED but it really hasn't. Now this might be a bug, but it certainly looks very bad on CPanel. Next thing you know the competitors will say "Cpanel will mess up your server if you don't renew the license". 0 -

To be clear, what version of cPanel are you on?0 -

Well, if the issue has been resolved, that sorts it, right? [QUOTE]Fixed case CPANEL-24359: Ensure service authentication via dovecot is always available.
Please feel free to open a ticket to cPanel Technical Support if you're still having this issue.0 -
Not sure I follow. I have 76.0.15 and still have the issue. It's not a unique, support ticket, kind of case. 0 -

If the issue has been resolved, but you're still affected by it, a ticket is absolutely the best way to go.0 -
Had the issue been resolved, yes. It's not been resolved though. That's the point. 0 -
I'm sorry that you're having problems, but that thread I linked you to says it is resolved. If it's not, for you, a ticket is important. If Technical Support see the issue is not fixed via your ticket, a new case to fix it will be initiated. That's my point. 0 -
I am facing same problem and this is response i get by ticket: Seriously? You force your customers to renew license by this now? Shame on you... 0 -
You guys should seriously change this renewal-enforcing policy. This is simply unacceptable. This is the kind of thing that could devastate Cpanel's reputation. I don't need CPanel continuously. I buy the license a few months a year when I want to manage the server. I reckon there are many other people like myself. If you force people to renew the license in order to be able to keep their servers functioning properly, we'll simply have to switch to another control panel. 0 -

This still makes no sense to me. When you don't want to manage it, then what? It runs by itself, out of date and insecure doing whatever comes up with it, until you feel like renewing the license for another month? You probably should switch to another control panel. Hopefully you'll find one that doesn't cost you anything made by people that work for a pat on the back... This thread is going nowhere and so is now closed.0
