WHM not sending backups to S3

Hi all, I'm trying to get WHM to send site backups to S3, but it's not working. When I verify the credentials and settings through WHM, it validates, but when the backups are actually being performed the backups aren't sending to S3. Currently our backup location is at /home2 if that matters. The backups used to work, but stopped recently. Also, WHM can only connect to a bucket located in the N. Virginia region for some reason?
