Unable to lower bandwidth usage limit in WHM
I'm encountering a problem where the bandwidth allocated to my accounts was accidentally raised to the point where it greatly exceeds the Bandwidth Usage Limit and can't be lowered leaving me unable to create new accounts.
Server Information: CLOUDLINUX 6.7
cPanel & WHM Version: v70.0.54
Access level: Non-root
Steps to reproduce: I currently have 70 accounts that were created with a package that contains the Monthly Bandwidth (MB) value of 10240. I have a bandwidth limit of 819200 for all accounts. From Packages -> Edit a Package -> Edit -> Monthly Bandwidth (MB) the value was changed to 20480 which then changed for all accounts.

When I try to lower the limit by going to Packages -> Edit a Package -> Edit -> Monthly Bandwidth (MB) and lowering the value, the old value remains the same in Account Information -> View Bandwidth Usage.
Also, as far as I can tell, I am unable to downgrade an account to a package with a lower bandwidth limit by going to Account Functions -> Upgrade/Downgrade an Account because of the same bandwidth limits.

I realize this may be something better addressed by my hosting provider, and I'm referencing the page on overselling in the documentation to find out if it might apply to my situation: Overselling - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation
I would greatly appreciate any information to help resolve this issue. Thanks.

IS there any error in the /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log while trying to save the change ? If so please check that and paste it here as well. 0 -
Hi @Seth C. In this situation, I don't think you can modify the package limits. Since you're holding what seems to be a reseller account. If you've got a root level account I would suggest checking the cPanel error_log as suggested by @NixTree Thanks! 0
