    Hello again :) @cPanelLauren This is the output: [root@server ~]# du -h --max-depth=1 6.3M ./.cpanm 2.4M ./.spamassassin 20M ./.cpanel 40K ./.razor 12K ./.HttpRequest 276K ./.MirrorSearch 4.0K ./perl5 19M ./.cpobjcache 4.0K ./.ssh 80K ./tmp 4.0K ./.pyzor 16K ./.gnupg 12K ./cpanel3-skel 8.0K ./.pki 48M . [root@server ~]#
This is a doubt/issue for me, all this days I search, investigate, google...try all but not view where is the problem or issue or the reasson for this. Thanks and regards!!

HI @wonder_wonder I wasn't clear enough on where I wanted you to run this and I apologize. Can you do the following and do this once me? cd /home
    du -h --max-depth=1
    Thanks!

    Yes, of course, thanks at you for your attention and help. This is the result: [root@server ~]# cd /home [root@server home]# du -h --max-depth=1 4.0K ./cPanelInstall 1.9G ./myusername 16K ./clamav 1.7M ./virtfs 1.1M ./.cpcpan 38M ./.cpan 169M ./cpanelsolr 2.1G . [root@server home]#
    Thank you very much! Edit: I input same command in / folder, and this is the result: [root@server /]# du -h --max-depth=1 du: cannot access "./proc/22082": No such file or directory du: cannot access "./proc/22117": No such file or directory du: cannot access "./proc/22120/task/22120/fd/4": No such file or directory du: cannot access "./proc/22120/task/22120/fdinfo/4": No such file or directory du: cannot access "./proc/22120/fd/3": No such file or directory du: cannot access "./proc/22120/fdinfo/3": No such file or directory 0 ./proc 8.2G ./usr 4.0K ./srv 4.0K ./media 2.1G ./home 17M ./etc 0 ./dev 136M ./opt 9.2G ./var 49M ./run 48M ./root 3.4M ./backup 137M ./boot 8.0K ./mnt 0 ./sys 5.2M ./tmp 16K ./lost+found 8.0K ./.pki 20G . [root@server /]#
    I view that, /usr and /var have a lot usage space. I compare with other server that I admin, her result its very different: [root@server /]# du -h --max-depth=1 4.0K ./lost+found 188K ./tmp 4.7G ./usr 0 ./dev 0 ./sys 456K ./run 20G ./home 4.0K ./media 4.0K ./srv 4.0K ./.cpt_hardlink_dir_a920e4ddc233afddc9fb53d26c392319 12M ./root 17M ./etc 1.2G ./var du: cannot access './proc/7476/task/7476/fd/4': No such file or directory du: cannot access './proc/7476/task/7476/fdinfo/4': No such file or directory du: cannot access './proc/7476/fd/4': No such file or directory du: cannot access './proc/7476/fdinfo/4': No such file or directory 0 ./proc 12K ./boot 4.0K ./mnt 20G ./backup 99M ./opt 46G . [root@server /]#
In this other server I view that, /usr and /var use less space, but in this server, yes, disk usage by cpanel is the same that disk usage by whm. In my first server (my main server) is on when I have the problem, disk usage of cpanel its very different at disk usage of whm. In my first server, on where I have this problem, I few days ago I clear de /var/ log files...but continue with same problem. Again, thank you very much!

Hi @wonder_wonder Thank you for that! Do you have quotas enabled on the server? If so can you run the following and let me know if it resolved the Disk Usage issue: /scripts/fixquotas

  • wonder_wonder
Hi @cPanelLauren ! No, I don't have set quotas, all space for the account, in this VPS only have one account without quotas. The command: /scripts/fixquotas
I was used before start this thread, and not solved, continue the same issue... Thank you very much! But a doubt, I don't understand why my /usr and /var have a lot space usage. (But this I think is other doubt/issue for solved when this first are solved, clean /usr and /var :) )

Hello @wonder_wonder If quotas aren't enabled running that won't actually resolve the issue. Furthermore, if system quotas aren't enabled the disk usage information may not be accurate. I'd start with the following to initialize quotas: /scripts/initquotas
If that doesn't rectify the difference in disk usage then can you please open a ticket using the link in my signature? Once open please reply with the Ticket ID here so that we can update this thread with the resolution once the ticket is resolved. Thanks!

Hello @cPanelLauren ! I don't remember if in this last days also I execute initquotas, but I execute now, and this not fixed the issue. This is the result: [root@server ~]# /scripts/initquotas journaled quota support: kernel supports, user space tools supports (available) checking out /backup checking out /backup Warning : Your system does not have a separate filesystem for backups. This may cause performance degradation during the backup process. UUID=e5f9718f-35fe-4c20-9e2d-8f3955eabcd1 (already configured quotas = 1). Updating Quota Files...... quotacheck: Scanning /dev/sda1 [/] quotacheck: Cannot stat old user quota file //quota.user: No such file or directory. Usage will not be subtracted. quotacheck: Old group file name could not been determined. Usage will not be subtracted. quotacheck: Checked 21437 directories and 328941 files quotacheck: Old file not found. done ....Done Quotas have been enabled and updated. [root@server ~]#
But like I indicate, not fixed the issue (not restart my VPS...). I open a ticket like you indicate (its my first ticket), I open via your link. In some part of process I have this error:
Error:WHM Authorization failed with the following error: The server detected that an SSH key for user "root" in Ticket ID "11330409" and Server "1" already exists. Run the following cPanel script and refresh your browser: /scripts/updatesupportauthorizations. You may skip this server or correct the problem and try again.
But in my WHM, in Gran cPanel Support Access appears all well, and I click in test and indicate all ok. I continue with the ticket and view are created fine. The ticket id: 11330409 Again, thank you very much for your attention and help!

Hi @wonder_wonder I just checked in on this ticket and it looks like our analysts were able to provide you a breakdown of the disk usage some of which being consumed by tmpDSK which seems to have accounted for the disk space usage you weren't able to identify at first. Let us know if you continue to experience any further issues with this.

Hi @cPanelLauren ! Yes, appears my problem / doubt has solved. My breakdown of the disk usage some of wich being consumed by tmpDSK, and I don't able to identify at first. I was looking at the difference in space used in / usr and / var comparing with my other server. Have a explanation: After all this, I deduced that, cpanel it measures the use of the disk space used differently than whm, whm takes into account everything, cpanel does not take into account the directories of the system files, is it correct? Now, I understand because, this server compared with my other server not have the same usage disk in /usr and /var, this server have in /usr securecuretmp, the other not, and this server have a big database, the other server not, for this reasson /var have more usage disk in this server. Thank you very much for your great attentin and help!!

Hi i have a similar issue and here are my screen shots to show. I have followed instructions on most but still the same i also notice it says the quota is unlimited but this is not true for the majority of accounts where this should be 10GB

The first thing I'd look at in your case @Mark Coates would be whether or not quotas are in fact enabled on the system. You can initialize them by running the following: /scripts/initquotas

this has now been done and see this. [root@dedivps-75533 ~]# /scripts/initquotas journaled quota support: kernel supports, user space tools supports (available) checking out /backup checking out /backup Quotas have been enabled and updated. [root@dedivps-75533 ~]# This morning i have updated cPanel to 80.0.9 and it has mentioned quotas are not enabled so i went through the process of doing this and now see this. (attached)

If you're running virtuozzo which per the screenshot it appears you are this is a common issue when quota's on the host node aren't enabled. You can read more about issues with this here: Enable Quotas on a Virtuozzo VPS - Version 80 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

Hi @cPanelLauren i asked my host to enable the this via the node and then i initialised the quota and ran the fix quota code and everything is now working well as it should. Thanks.
