/.Trash/cur contents not purged properly
Hello! These instructions are still valid to add folders to auto empty trash folders?
I noticed on our servers tons of emails sleeping in foldes like /.Trash/cur and are NOT purgued after 30 days as we setup on mailserver configuration.
Thanks

Hi @benito Interesting, it should definitely be removing the mail, If you've got mail older than 30 days and mail server configuration is set up to purge it. The only stipulation to this I believe is when mail is delivered directly to trash there is an issue where it isn't auto-expunged in that instance. We have a case open for that CPANEL-12072 Thanks! 0 -
Yes, we have that server set to purge email older than 30 days. I found trash folders with emails from 2012  Thanks Cristian 0 -
Hi @benito Can you tell me if this was mail delivered directly to trash? It is noted in the case that deleting an email manually should trigger the record in the expires table of /var/cpanel/dovecot/dict.sqlite 0 -
No, sadly we do not know how our customers deletes their emails. Thanks 0 -
Hi @benito Can you please let me know if the workaround provided resolves the issue or not? 0 -

We do not tried because the thread is too old and worried to break anything. Those instructions are still valid today?0 -
Hi @benito I provided a workaround from the case in one of my previous responses, here it is again: Can you tell me if this was mail delivered directly to trash? It is noted in the case that deleting an email manually should trigger the record in the expires table of /var/cpanel/dovecot/dict.sqlite

It works the first time i tried with an account. Deleted one message and trash was emptied instantly. Second time i tried with another customer old messages stay in trash folder. Thanks0
