Serve site from Sub Directory with own user?

Just checking out a few possibilities. I've been asked if it is possible to serve a wordpress blog from a subdirectory on a cpanel account with it's own user (that is unable to traverse outside of it's own directory eg: www.domain.com - own user and db www.domain.com/blog - own user and db I've looked into sym linking and hosting the blog on it's own cpanel account - but apparently this is very risky I've also looked into using mod rewrite to achieve the same end via a subdomain - but this requires mod_proxy enabling and is again apparently a security risk. Is the sub folder user root possible? Are there better alternatives? Thank you for any advice.
