    problem solved
    • have disabled the "Require clients to connect with SSL or issue the STARTTLS command before they are allowed to authenticate with the server." setting on the new server.

    Hello @nowki While that does resolve the immediate issue it doesn't resolve the cause of the inability to connect. Depending on which mail client you were using my assumption here is that the connection was being made using the no longer supported SSL protocol as opposed to TLS v1.2 I'd advise checking the exim main logs to confirm whether or not this is indeed the case though.
