Configuring new server question
I have linux CentOS in my server. I will be running mybb it needs apache, php and mysql. I have installed them in the server. Now, if I install cPanel in my server it will be very easy for me to do the regular stuff, keeping backup and all. So, are there any tutorial or documentation for it. And also after installing cPanel I will have to configure it right? So, how to do it?

cPanel packages their own Apache, PHP and MySQL, so you should NOT have previously installed them. Attempting to install cPanel on a partially provisioned server may lead to software conflicts, and even total failure. Please see Installation Guide - System Requirements - Version 76 Documentation - cPanel Documentation and take special notice of [quote] Important: - cPanel, LLC designs software for commercial hosting. Therefore, we only license publicly visible, static IP addresses. We do not license dynamic, reserved, sticky, or internal IP addresses.
- We do not provide an uninstaller. If you wish to remove our software, you must reformat the server.
- Only install cPanel & WHM on a freshly-installed operating system.
- You must log in to the server as the root user in order to install cPanel & WHM. If you do not possess root-level access, contact your system administrator or hosting provider for assistance.
- We recommend that you use the Customize Your Installation documentation.

So should I uninstall them and then install cPanel? Is that what you are saying? Or, I just 'Destroy & Rebuild' the OS through my hosting account? 0 -
Hi @Mrinmoy I'd suggest reloading the OS then installing cPanel fresh. That way you rule out the possibility of conflicts along the way if you'd already made modifications. 0 -

Okay got it. As I will be running only a mybb forum in this server. I don't need to install or maintain anything else. I just have to install cPanel and it will take care of the rest, right?0 -
Hi, cPanel it is great system that had already installed many software and save you alot time to install related software.but if you do not have experience with server management,it is better to buy a shard hosting directly, and you can keep your eye with mybb forum management. 0 -

That's correct, apache, mysql and php will be installed by default. Thanks!0
