Delay in email delivery
Hello, we have a very strange case ...
We manage a vps that works perfect on all your options but the delivery of emails takes at least 2 hours ..
That is ... if you send an email from any external mailbox to a mailbox of a domain hosted on the server it takes about two hours to arrive ..
Notably :
Greylist is disabled and has always been
If we run cat / etc / resolv.conf it has the google dns configured
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
There is no bounce code, the emails arrive but two hours later there is no post queue ..
We do not use any relay or anything like that the mail is handled by default by the cpanel exim
Can someone give us any help with that?
Thank you

Just so I am clear, you send an email FROM an external source (say a gmail.com account) and it takes two hours to arrive in your local inbox? First thing I would check is are there delivery attempts sooner than that where your server is denying the initial delivery. An initial delivery attempt should hit your server within a few minutes of it being sent from gmail. If there is no logged delivery attempt, then it might be a problem with the dns configuration, but there's not enough detail here to determine that. 0 -
Hello @elderf, Can you send a test message from a remote server and then search for it in /var/log/exim_mainlog to verify if there's anything delaying the delivery process on the cPanel & WHM server? You can search /var/log/exim_mainlog with a command like this: exigrep user@remote-server /var/log/exim_mainlog
Thank you.0
