MySQL to Mariadb upgrade path?
Hi,
I had a quick question. If we are on mysql 5.6, is there an upgrade path that needs to happen before going to Maria 10.3. Are there any gotchas?
This link refers to one, but I think it was specific to that environment
Thanks

That should not really apply to you. When cPanel does a mysql upgrade, it will actually iterate through each version one step at a time. The only thing to worry about is when it does the pre-flight checks, if there is anything listed there as critical it bears investigation and understanding of the ramifications. 0 -
Not only does it iterate through any necessary in-between versions but MariaDB is a drop in replacement for MySQL it's actually not a huge "version" upgrade but rather a switch to a different DB engine. The documentation here might be helpful for you: MySQL or MariaDB Upgrade - Version 78 Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thanks! 0
