Hi @Thunderchild From your home network are you able to access any other cPanel services? I'm curious if your home IP is possibly blocked.

You might try clearing your browser's cache but also you may want to ensure that your home network can connect over port 2078 which is what WebDisk uses this is discussed in the documentation here: Web Disk - Version 78 Documentation - cPanel Documentation

This is Windows explorer so no cookies, maybe my router has blocked the ports.

OK so i think my router has port 2078 blocked. So i have to set up port forwarding, I am asked for my local IP, local port range and exfernal port range. What local ports do i forward to? same as external?

Port forwarding will not solve your problem, as that is used to route incoming traffic. The port 2078 access you require is outbound. If your router supports UPnP, enabling that is the quickest means of allowing applications to request which ports/protocols they'll use for communicating with the outside world. If you're not using UPnP, then you'll need to go to the firewall section in your router configuration and create a rule to allow any internal address from any TCP port number to access either any or your specific server's IP address at TCP port 2078. WebDAV will use a broad range of possible outbound ports, but the target cPanel WebDAV server will always listen on port 2078. One thing that is useful to check is to see whether the port is being blocked at the router/firewall level or upstream at the ISP level. One way to do that is to temporarily disable the firewall on PC/router/firewall and then use a utility such as telnet, nc or ssh that enables you to specify a remote port to which to connect, e.g.: telnet mycpanelwebdav.co 2078 If you get a connection, you know that your ISP is passing TCP traffic to that destination port. If you do not get a connection, you'll need to talk to your ISP about why they're blocking one of the cPanel-used ports. Assuming that you get a connection, re-enable your router firewall and then test your connection again. NOTE: If using a Wi-Fi access point behind a separate router, BE SURE to check/ensure that the AP is operating in bridge/access point mode and NOT router mode. If your AP is running in router mode, you'll be behind double NAT and that breaks all manner of stuff. Once you're certain you're not behind double NAT, you can tweak your router/firewall rules until you can access the remote destination port. In some cases, you may find that antivirus software will over-aggressively block outbound traffic to non-standard ports. SSL over port 2078 falls under that category and most dedicated firewalls, e.g., Sophos UTM, will block that traffic by default. Good luck with the troubleshooting.

OK, clearly i would be wasting my time with webdisk as I can never guarantee that the connection I am on will work. It does not work at my fathers house so the only time I can use it is at work or on my mobile phone connection.

One possibility would be for you to use a VPN in problem locations. Any respectable VPN service will route all protocols and destination ports. Setup the VPN to route all your traffic through it and then connect to the VPN service any time you need to access your WebDAV share in a problem spot.

Yea, but by the time I pay for a VPN that i will have to use non stop at home for starters I may as well just pay for say dropbox. This webdisk feature is not the most useful thing as it's very complicated to setup and will have to be done location by location.
