cPanel Apache solr plugin. Is it worth it?

Hi, how are you guys? I was thinking on using apache solr in one of our servers and some questions arrived to my mind. 1) The plugin just works out of the box? Doesnt it need any kind of manual configuration/tunning? 2) The users will notice improvements without changing anything on outlook? 3) We have 8 cores CPU and 8GB of ram, and we handle 70GB of mails aprox.. will this dramatically increase the resources usage? Thank a lot for all the information.. I guess that this answers will help us decide if its worth it or not. Thanks!

  Hello, The only issue we had was with mailboxes that was over 5GB of quota used. It was slower with Solr so we had to raise the memory limit and it was fixed! Please see this post on how to raise limit if you need to:

  Hello @::Gomez::, Increased memory usage is the most common performance report we receive, but actual usage depends how active your mail server is (and how large mailboxes are). The link provided in the earlier post is useful if you need to increase the Solr memory limit. Thank you.
