Disable check_unreliable_resolvers alert?
Hi.
Each maintenance update does not exit cleanly, because check_unreliable_resolvers reports error 1 when it exits.
Most likely, the reason is that I'm using my VPS provider's DNS.
My question is this: how can I prevent cPanel from sending me a message related to the above "update failure in upcp script" ?
Note that I want to keep the cPanel Update Failures on "High".
All I want is for it to stop sending me notifications related to check_unreliable_resolvers.

I know this isn't what you asked, but why not just update the resolvers to something reliable. You're rightfully receiving alerts because the resolvers you're using are unreliable. There are many reliable public resolvers available. The obvious ones being google 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 or if you want a little more privacy verisign 64.6.64.6, 64.6.65.6 0 -
@kdub is correct, the only reason this check comes back as unreliable is because the nameservers at some point during the check did not respond. This can cause a number of issues including the inability to send mail and as you're seeing an inability to complete updates. The most obvious solution here would be to use resolvers that don't have this issue. This can't be pulled out of the nightly maintenance, or the cPanel updates. 0 -
