Blocked port 25 is a false or real problem?

Incoming mail on port 25 will work fine, Google is only blocking outbound port 25. However there is no way to get outbound mail to work with a port 25 block short of using some kind of smart host that works on a different port. You could though set up a vps in a different datacenter that does not block outbound 25 and use it as your own mail relay.

Thank you for your answer. But, that means that every VPS on Google GCE is using a smart host to send emails?

Hello @timesurfer, @GOT is correct. We recently published a couple of guides on setting up a smart host with cPanel & WHM if you decide to use one of these email providers: Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.

Thank you for both your answers. I know Sendgrid, Mailgun and Mailjet, and I've used their services for sending newsletters and I've also set up servers using them as a smart host. They work fine and easy to work with. They really are and impressed me. They do a fine job. But, that's not the point. The point is that sometimes you just need a server to send emails directly without using a smart host. And I thought there was a way of doing that in Google GCE. I guess I have to use another ISP in this cases.
