Local default backup destination
Hello,
By mistake we have installed WHM/cPanel and hosted the site over there on our brand new dedicated server without checking disk partition. The maximum storage is allocated to '/home' which is not required as we will not host more than one site on this server. Current local backup destination is '/backup'. Everything is fine without any issue.
Now we have noticed that we can not keep more backup retention in '/backup' as the maximum storage are allocated to '/home' not to '/'. Below is the current disk configuration:
Our server info:
I think resize partition should be complexity as the server and site is online. However if we change the default backup destination from '/backup' to '/home/backup' through WHM [Home "Backup "Backup Configuration] then there should be anything that needs to be modified or is there any negative impact ? Any suggestion should be appreciated. Regards, Tarak Nath

The only thing this would impact would be quotas if you're using them. Quotas are automatically disabled on filesystems when backups are set to /home/0 -
Thank you for the response. So we can use '/home/backup' 0 -
You can indeed use it. 0 -
Thanks again @cPanelLauren , We will use it and update you if any issue occurred. 0
