Rejected relay attempt
I have one client who sends email from scanners/printers. If he sends to one email address (one not our system) he gets the dreaded Rejected relay attempt error. But if he sends it to an email account on one of our servers, it goes through. Is it something that I can fix from my end or is it something that needs to be adjusted on the remote server?

If he is using your server to send emails to destination addresses that are not on your server then he needs to authenticate when sending. Otherwise your server would be acting as an open relay which would be very bad. 0 -
@GOT is 100% correct in this instance, having an open relay is a huge security risk as well. 0
