How do I create a subdomain of an addon domain?
Hi,
I have a primary domain (primarydomain.com) with a subdomain of equipment.primarydomain.com and I have added an addon domain: secondarydomain.com and I also want a subdomain of this: equipment.secondarydomain.com but I can't get it to work.
I just get the Sorry! cgi page when I try to visit it in the browser.
My host suggest moving the addon domain's subdomain folder out of public_html into / and then edit the document root in cPanel > Modify a Subdomain. The docs say I should be able to do this and that the Home is the accounts home directory but when I type anything into this, eg "equipment" it defaults to /public_html/equipment. The docs only say not to use one of the system directories and that this should work.
Am I being really silly here and missing something obvious? Surely I can add a subdomain to an addon domain!
Thanks for your help as always.

Hi, I have done exactly what your trying to do. When setting up the sub-domain the document root text box defaults to equipment.yourdomain.com as you type into the field above. This creates a folder outside of your /home/cpaneluser/public_html/ and is located /home/cpaneluser/equipment.yourdomain.com/. Please double check and try adding a test index.html within the folder to confirm. 0 -
