You can now use IPv6 for outgoing mail with Exim. I tested and confirmed on cPanel 92.0.11 See-> Can you change the Exim outgoing IPv4 address to an IPv6 address?

@executorbrandon thanks for the link. Well its a small step forward, but this means all mail accounts sending email from the same single IPv6 address. We have too many accounts with dedicated IPs for this to be useful for us :(

@executorbrandon Have you tested yourself? Is it working for you? [QUOTE]

To actually give each email account a dedicated IP is a little trickier where you would have to create your own router and transport within Exim. I do that in an opposite way where if the recipient is a certain email address, I route the message to a transport that uses a specific IP.

@executorbrandon Have you tested yourself? Is it working for you? Because I tried the above article but still mails are routing from IPv4 in cPanel v92.

I have not tested that specific way but a while back I managed to get it working with ipv6 via hardcoding the exim.conf file but I'm getting a test VPS tomorrow and going to test it the referenced way. For now in theory it should work if you have the following correct. Did you set the "Reference /etc/mailips for custom IP on outgoing SMTP connections" to "On" under Exim Basic Configuration? They didn't mention that but it's needed. Via your terminal, run a ping6 ipv6.google.com to make sure it's reachable then check /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 to see if yourIPv6 is on the IPV6ADDR line. Check Exim Advanced Editor to make sure disable_ipv6 is not set to true. After everything is set restart exim or even the a graceful server reboot to be sure and send a test should be good to go.

This still won't work. I would point out that 'Reference /etc/mailips' is in Exim configuration not 'tweak settings'. Also if you have 'Send mail from the account"s IP address' then the option to turn on/off 'Reference /etc/mailips' is unavailable. AFAIK the following link comments on sending mail through IPv6 ( SADLY :( ) still stands:

    Any luck on testing?

I am testing the next 3 days got tied up with family things for the holiday. Just got the server an hour ago however waiting for my hosting co to contract cPanel to issue a license that's not expired.

I was able to hardcode in the IPv6 the exim.conf as I did before however it will always change when you update cPanel or edit the Exim Basic Configuration unless you lock the file. Secondly whoever answered the Can you change the Exim outgoing IPv4 address to an IPv6 address? question has been mistaken because the mailips do not actually get referenced at all for IPv6. I am in contact with my hosting provider and they are also looking into the issue. ------------------------------------------ Thank you for contacting us today. As per your updates, we understood that you wish to change Exim outgoing IPv4 address to the IPv6 address. We are checking the possibilities to change Exim outgoing IPv4 address to the IPv6 address and will get back to you with an update shortly. Please standby. In the meantime, your patience would be highly appreciated. Edward Kline Tier 2 Technical Support

The following answer is incorrect and needs to be removed: Can you change the Exim outgoing IPv4 address to an IPv6 address? Currently IPv6 is not supported for Exim. This has been confirmed by several Tier 4 Technical Support reps. See caption below: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello, Thanks for the update. We hope that cPanel will consider this feature request and will enable the IPv6 support soon. Please get back to us if you have any valuable feedback regarding this.
