Office 365 SRV entries revisited
I cannot seem to figure out how to add srv records for outlook/office365 email. From microsoft, here are the instructions: - the problem is that these fields arent in the WHM->Edit DNS Zone editor and I just don't understand what to put where. when I choose serv the target/protocol/service fields arent there.
There is a reference link in an older post: but it is dead so that thread is of no help.

Also I found this: Create DNS records at Hostgator for Office 365 But it calls for the "advanced DNS editor" which does not seem to be in the cpanel anymore. 0 -
Hello @nosajix If you go to cPanel>>Domains>>Zone Editor -> Click Manage next to your domain -> Click the dropdown next to +Add Record is there no option for SRV records available? 59151 If this isn't available it sounds like it was disabled in the featurelist for your package by your provider and you'd need to discuss this further with them. 0 -
There is no field for protocol or service as they say on the microsoft page. 59347 0 -
In their documentation, they note the following: [QUOTE](See the notes below for creating SRV records when your DNS host doesn't have all of these as separate fields.)
if you read below that section they specifically state what to do when those two fields are not present. I took the liberty of going to that page and getting that paragraph: [QUOTE] For Service and Protocol: If your DNS host doesn't provide these fields for SRV records, you must specify the Service and Protocol values as the record's Name value. (Note: Depending on your DNS host, the Name field might be called something else, like: Host, Hostname, or Subdomain.) To set up the combined value, you create a single string, separating the values with a dot. For example: Name: _sip._tls0 -
My bad Lauren - I should read more than the tables... shame on me Thank you. 0 -
No problem! Just let me know if you run into any more issues with adding the records! 0
