Prevent .htaccess creation when changing PHP version?

I'm not sure if this is caused by EasyApache or MultiPHP, but how do I stop a .htaccess file being created (with AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php73 .php .php7 .phtml) when upgrading PHP versions? All my websites stop working and I have to go around all my websites and delete the .htaccess files ???
