Do security settings back up?
I migrated servers recently ,Moved from managed to unmanaged hosting .
Was wondering if iptables rules and other stuff carry over? .
Website is up and running on the new server so setup is fine.
I disable default fire wall ,Enabled csf ,cPBulk, changed ssh port .
I noticed while checking server logs that someone from China already tried to access the ssh and is ip banned on iptables .
Anything else i have to do to up security? Also regarding server updates do i have to do it regularly or can i do it like once a month .
Sorry if i got off topic it just feels overwhelming running everything myself for the first time .

IPtables rules do not carry over. if you old server was running csf and you still have it you can copy the csf config files over. 0 -

Hello @omoe, The following document is useful when configuring security settings on your server: Recommended Security Settings - cPanel Knowledge Base - cPanel Documentation In terms of updates, I recommend enabling automatic updates for your preferred release tier per the instructions on the document below: Update Preferences - Version 80 Documentation - cPanel Documentation Thank you.0
