Hello, I am trying to update MySQL 5.6 to MySQL 5.7 through WHM, I made the command in ssh to be able to release the message that was appearing in WHM 'unmanaged' After the command I did the update I've tried every way to update, read up on some web sites saying to change the version of MySQL to 5.7 in the file /var/cpanel/cpanel.config but I did not succeed, how to proceed? Note: If someone has problems after the upgrade and can not put the MySQL service up, run the following 2 commands to re-establish the MySQL 5.6 service: /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/update_local_rpm_versions --edit target_settings.MySQL56 installed /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/check_cpanel_rpms --fix

  Hello @renatoandrade, It's possible this relates to an internal case that's open (CPANEL-28105) where an invalid mysql-version entry in /var/cpanel/cpanel.config breaks the MySQL upgrade process, however we'll need to take a closer look at your system to verify if that's the case.   After the command I did the update procedure, gave the following errors, RPM conflict, the system detected issues with the current "/etc/my.cnf" file and MySQL enables "strict mode" by default as of version 5.7

  
  I had custom setting in my.cnf and got the same error. The solution that worked for me was to back up my.cnf, delete my.cnf, and then restart the update. my.cnf then gets created clean and you can re-add any custom settings afterwards. Best, Michael

  I tried this and it did not work, I believe I will have to open a ticket in the cpanel to upgrade.

  This was causing the RPM's for MySQL 5.6 to not be properly removed during the upgrade. To resolve this, I ran the following to remove "MySQL56: installed" from /var/cpanel/rpm.versions.d/local.versions: [06:08:25 server root@12797665 ~]cPs# /scripts/update_local_rpm_versions --del target_settings.MySQL56
  Once completed, I tried running the MySQL upgrade again and it completed successfully. MySQL 5.7 is now running on the server: [06:09:02 server root@12797665 ~]cPs# mysql -V mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.7.26, for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper
