root privileges for cPanel updates?
One of our web servers is running an old version of Easy Apache and WHM, so both need to be updated. The owner has access to the root user and wanted to give me access to make updates. It appears this would need to be done by setting me up with a reseller account and then assigning the necessary permissions to the reseller privileges. The account was setup, but I still do not have the necessary permissions. So my question is, in order to make this type of update on the server, do I need to have full root privileges or are there specific settings that can be chosen to enable the necessary access?
Thanks,
Wil

Hiya. Ask the root to enable the following for your reseller: Reseller Central >> Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges >> Everything >> All Features. 0 -
Hi trifo, thanks for the reply. So that was my main question...is the "All Features" option required in order for me to make these updates? There's no option for this in the more granular settings? Just wanted to make sure before having him give me full access. Thanks, Wil 0 -
Yes, either you need root access or need to have reseller account with All privileges enabled. 0 -
Ok thank you both! Much appreciated! Wil 0 -
