Unable to create Add-on domain when DNS is elsewhere
Hi,
I seem to be unable to create an add-on domain record when the DNS is hosted off-server. I am getting the error
I do have the namesrver IPs in that filer, and the A records at the registrar are correct. An nslookup from my server lie;ds the right results. Still I cannot create the Add-on. I have done this in the past, and it has worked... not sure where to look now.
(XID 9rxty6) Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote name server.I do have the namesrver IPs in that filer, and the A records at the registrar are correct. You should be able to bypass that by enabling this option: WebHost Manager "Server Configuration "Tweak Settings, domains tab: [QUOTE] Allow Remote Domains Allow creation of parked/addon domains that resolve to other servers (e.g. domain transfers) This can be a major security problem. If you must have it enabled, be sure not to allow users to park common Internet domains. 0 -
Thanks. I knew that was in there somewhere. I have it enabled on one of my servers, but not this one. It still makes me curious why I was able to add one domain this way, but not two others... especially as they are all at the same registrar and all configured the same way, as far as I can tell. It's going to have to remain a mystery I suppose :-) 0
