Create new database for second website?

hi 1st i want to tell i am not technical person just little knowledge about the things. my question is we have a free classified website in WordPress now we want to move in another platform we are going to design a customized website in PHP and want to move all data from existing website to new website. now the question is do we need a separate database for new customized website or existing database we can use or import from our existing WordPress website and what is the best thing we should do? i hope you will guide me well .thanks
