Can I install a standalone instance of Apache Solr™ ?

Hi, I'm looking to install Apache Solr" on our cPanel & WHM server but already found an instance of it, which is enabled by a Plugin: "Full Text Search Indexing for IMAP powered by Apache Solr"". Is there a way to use this instance for your own applications running on the server? If so, how do I access the instance?
