Hello, Can you show me the output of the following for the user/s in question here? ls -lah /home/$user/ ls -lah /home/$user/public_html
Typically this is related to a permissions issue.

Seems to have fixed itself. Maybe it just needed to sit and think for a bit?

Hello @judahnator It's possible there could have been a communication issue in the time where the error was being presented. During the time frame of the error is there anything noted in the license logs for cPanel at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/license_log
or in the cPanel error logs which can be found at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log

Hi @judahnator Thank you for that! Looking through Sectigo service notifications on August 29th I found that Sectigo was performing Maintenance at a few intervals on August 29th. Specifically 0600 UTC and 0700-0730 UTC. It's possible the AutoSSL check could have initially run at this time. What timezone is your server time?

The cPanel Store returned an error (X::AuthenticationFailure) in response to the request "POST ssl/certificate/free": Unauthorized

Some Hosting Providers, GoDaddy for example, do not permit free certs as I understand it. Are you on a GD server?
