File not found 403.shtml in error log
Hi.
In cPanel errorlog I see a lot of this:
2019-10-06 21:42:14.187568 [INFO] [1888832] [xxx.xx.xx.xx:60542] File not found [/home/public_html/403.shtml]
I see my wordpress sites often have this problem. But I have no problem navigating and using the site. But the error log annyoing me.
Wordpress: 5.2.3
PHP 7.2
Litespeed plugin
MySQL Version: 10.1.41-MariaDB-cll-lve
cPanel Version: 82.0 (build 16)
If I enter one of my phpbb3 forum sites and enter mydomain.com/config.php I get an 403 Forbidden, Access to this resource on the server is denied.
and this shows on my error log
2019-10-06 22:08:32.132717 [INFO] [3538266] [xxx.xx.xx.xx.xx:36006] File not found [/home/user/mydomain.com/403.shtml]
In .htaccess I have this:
Order Allow,Deny
Deny from All
So it is not strange that the user cannot access config.php. But what is strange is that I get that error message in the error log in cpanel. Do I manually need to create new 403.shtml files?
It is just a lot of bots and users that are trying to access my config files on wordpress and phpbb3 sites?
My host tells me that it a ModSecurity rule was triggered.
Anyone have had this problem before?
