collectd is out of control

For the last week, my server has slowed down to a crawl, and top reports collectd consistently using 99% of my CPU. Load averages are between 1.5-3. In the past, I have had some issues with malware abusing email. I have disabled mail send for all individual accounts, and disabled exim in WHM. I have also disabled tailwatchd, as it was also spinning up 99%. What should I do?
