How to migrate from standalone postfix+mysql to cPanel?
Hello,
Some customer wants to move to cPanel with their 750+ email accounts. Currently they use Postfix and have all users in MySQL database. Passwords are somehow encrypted. Is there any way to create account and set the same password, so emails users don't have to reset them?
Example of encrypted password: $1$033db2bd$qWI57xpJdO/wJTTGWj9x3.
The same password in plain text is: 1234567890test

Generally speaking all passwords are encrypted using cPanel as well. Manually migrating mail from another platform would be possible though without more information on where/how the passwords etc. are stored I can't tell you if they'd be able to retain the same passwords. 0 -
i see, i would like to try.. So if I create email account manually in cPanel and then change encrypted password to the one, that I have - where do I do that? 0 -
cPanel stores all of that data in /home/$user/etc/domain.tld/shadow
and/home/$user/etc/domain.tld/passwd0
