What happens when they send/receive mail? What are the instructions provided by the hosting provider? Ultimately this may be best addressed by the hosting provider as they're aware of the configuration needs for the account.

As far as im aware they can still send emails because their email client is setup with the remote email server, but when sending a mail to them results in a email bounce back. I have not found a help page by godaddy on how to do that sadly, i was hoping someone here had an idea on how to set it up, since setting up a remote email server supported by cpanel.

The thing is though, if their MX records are set to use a remote server, which in this instance they are, this has nothing to do with cPanel as we have no control over the mail, technically if this is set up properly the mail never comes to the cPanel server. The number 1 thing I would check would be to ensure that their MX records are set properly. If you're hosting DNS for their domain locally you'd make changes to their MX records on the server, but if you're using an A record redirect and logging in where the domain is registered to make changes you'd need to ensure that the domain's MX is set properly there.
