Failed FTP logins/actions
Hey guys, we are unable to connect via FTP to the server, some of us can connect but it drops when trying to upload/download or take action on the files.
To summarize the information received from the host, due to it being a shared server they cannot add the passive ip range (49152 through 65534) to TCP_IN/OUT for security purposes.
Since it's a bit annoying to contact them in order to have our IP whitelisted in the firewall everytime it changes (dynamic), is there any work around we can suggest to them for this?
Thanks!

There isn't an alternate way to work around this without adding the entire IP range for the provider you're using, which would also be a security concern. 0 -
I believe you can avoid that kind of problems if you use SFTP protocol, most FTP clients support it. 0 -
Well that's a bummer... We are aware of SFTP as well however we have different clients using separate accounts, the cPanel credentials can't be shared with all parties. Either way, thanks for the quick response guys much appreciated. 0
