Current Raw Access Logs
Can somebody tell me why my "Current Raw Access Logs" don't update in real-time during a whole day?
I'm doing tests on my own website but can't see the results in my logs until the next day or until the archive log file have been processed after 24 hours.
I remember not so long ago that the current access logs were updated in real-time not 24 hours after...
What's the use of having "current raw access logs in the first place?
Thank you for your help!

Hello, Raw access logs have only ever been updated when Statistics is run. This is detailed in our documentation here: Raw Access - Version 84 Documentation - cPanel Documentation If you need them more frequently you'd need to discuss this with your provider as they have the control over the statistics processing schedule. 0 -
Thank you for your information but want to make sure that we are talking about the "Current access logs" and not the "Archive logs every 24 hrs". Because my provider said to me that they don't have any control over this... 0 -
Raw access logs and the archived version of those are essentially one in the same. The current set of logs is archived as soon as statistics is run if you have that enabled, otherwise it's discarded. It's detailed at the top of the page [QUOTE]Archive log files to your home directory after the system processes statistics. The system currently processes logs every 24 hours.
Furthermore, the warning on the "Download Current Raw Access Logs" portion of the UI indicates the following: [QUOTE] Raw logs may only contain a few hours" worth of data because they are discarded after the system processes them. If archiving is enabled, the system archives the raw log data before the system discards it.
Archived logs contain all data that was present prior to the last statistics run and is stored dependent on your configuration for retaining them. Your provider does, in fact, have complete control over this and can modify the schedule at WHM>>Server Configuration>>Statistics Software Configuration. I will note though, that if you're on a shared server they may be hesitant to run statistics more frequently due to the load it could place on the server to run ALL user's statistics. If either of you would like more information on the configuration you can find it in the documentation here:0 -
