PHP 7.4 when?
Hi,
Any idea when PHP 7.4 will be added to EasyApache 4?
-
This is on our radar as well, as soon as we do we'll update that feature request as well as the EasyApache release notes, I do not have an ETA at this time though. 0 -
Any ETA yet? 0 -
Hello, It's only been a few days since the last update, and there's nothing new to report. I do not have an ETA for this, at this time. 0 -
To be honest, after the shocking price increase in cPanel, I expected better. The feature request says Q1 which is pretty poor. 0 -

@Gareth-AWD Hopefully PHP 7.4 is going to come to cpanel soon. 0 -
Good morning, We're currently working on adding PHP 7.4 support to EasyApache4. We expect it to be released within the next few weeks. We initially began work on this in late December and uncovered some unforeseen upstream issues. Thanks! Adam Wien Product Owner(EasyApache) 0 -
I think you should start working over PHP 7.4 about August/september to be ready when PHP 7.4 was ready. Other did ... cPanel is leading panel but not in this situation ... 0 -

Hello, That just sounds like you're passing the buck upstream. Considering the recent price hikes, you should definitely have the dev power to complete the task faster. Not to mention, PHP 7.4 on cPanel, is totally doable. CloudLinux first had alt-php74-7.4.0-0.rc.5.1 available on October 31st, 2019 :)0 -
Maybe they want to cross-sell CloudLinux to clients who want to keep supporting older PHP versions or who want to have 'quick' access to new versions? Support of multiple PHP versions is one of the USPs of the CloudLinux OS (cPanel & WHM Add-ons) which is sold through the cPanel Store. 0 -
@cPanelAdam - Any updates? It's been more than a month since your "within the next few weeks" comment. 0 -
This wasn't going to make it into the cPanel v86 release. As far as I am aware this is slated for v88 but there should be further communication on that. I'll update here with information as soon as I have more. 0 -

Not a good news, the PHP version is one of things that must have the highest priority in a web server panel developments. Direct Admin, Plesk and literally all of Cpanel competitor have made available PHP 7.4 since December...0 -
Hi, We get request very often about the availability of 7.4 version. I don't understand the "vote" on a feature like PHP Version. Sounds like a joke to vote for a feature that is essential for operation of a system like cPanel :D Thank you 0 -
PHP 7.4 would have been added with or without the feature request @A Hartonian - Unfortunately, there were unforeseen issues that caused a delay in it's being added to the product as was stated by @cPanelAdam 0 -

And when will cPanel v88 be released? These delays are causing real pain points in our product development. Many of your competitors had 7.4 alpha out half a year ago. This, combined with your recent price spikes, does not look good for the future of cPanel. We have the option to switch to Interworx with our managed hosting provider, and that is becoming the path of least resistance.0 -
ETA? 0 -
@cPanelAdam If you are referring to Cloud Linux's PHP Selector, I don't that that's really an option for most customers. The way that the end users decides what version of PHP to use (PHP Selector Vs MultiPHP) are different and the underlying mechanism (.htaccess vs .cl.selector/defaults.cfg) are totally different and you can't (easily) switch between them. 0 -
@cPanelAdam I understand the difficulties, as there is a lot to implement just to make it so that it is easy to install, and all the extensions included. Even though I don't know how cPanel implements the PHP vesions onto EasyApache. EasyApache3 to EasyApache4 should be the first priority here right now. I am sad about Centos 6 support end (I don't mean cPanel, I mean the official Centos 6 eol, not pointing about the end of support for Centos 6 by cPanel), cuz many people will be frustrated a bit. 0 -
Hi, Any idea when PHP 7.4 will be added to EasyApache 4?
Just a couple months later and we are still waiting? Foreal? Maybe I just don't have WHM configured correctly. WHM " Software " EasyApache 4 and in the PHP Versions there is no toggle option. It just stops at php73 Installed.0 -
I'm also eagerly awaiting WHM to have the option to install PHP 7.4. 0 -
I still thinking that absence of PHP 7.4 ... 4 months after official release it is disrespect for customers. 0 -
I can only assume that the delay is related to Coronavirus... 0 -
could you please inform when php 7.4 will be available ? is there a way to force php74 with EasyApache 4 ? i would like to add it on my dedicated server... please any advice will be fully appreciated !! 0 -

Exactly, i have one dedicated server running on Centos 6 and would be great if there is an update option to migrate to Centos 7 without the need to start a complete new setup from scratch.. do you know anything about migrating Centos 6 to Centos 7 without too much drama ? Any advice would be appreciated ;-)0
