How to host sub.domain.org and domain .org on same server as different zones?

    Assuming you are NOT hosting the domain.com web site and all you need to do is host the DNS, then the simplest way to do this is in WHM go to add DNS zone and add a zone for domain.com. You can populate the dns zone file with everything he needs EXCEPT for subdomain.domain.com because that already has its own zone file. When you add the DNS zone, just assign the owner as the user for subdomain.domain.com and that way it will still get backed up as part of your cPanel backup routine.

    Hello @jasgot, Thank you for contacting cPanel! I agree with GOT's excellent advice here, as it provides the simplest approach as well as a way to ensure the new DNS zone is regularly backed up. Note that there is no issue with having 2 separate DNS zone files, one for domain.com and another for webapp.domain.com, therefore you don't have to worry about migrating anything.
