Not Sending Email To Email Containing '+' In Address
Hello,
I run my website on a shared environment and recently one customer has signed up with an email like 'his+email@gmail.com' in my website. Then he told me he has not received the email, while I check 'Track Delivery' option and it tells me the email is received at that end.
He has checked his spam/junk and inbox folders, but nothing was found.
I then again has sent him manually an email from 'info@mysite.com' to 'his+email@gmail.com' and it again shows me 'Accepted' message in 'Track Delivery', but he does not get anything.
At last, I have sent him another email via my gmail account to his gmail, and he replied me that he received it without issue.
WHM/cPanel version: 84.0.7
I know it may not be cPanel's issue and it could be exim's, but I'm not sure even if I'm right.
I have contacted my hosting company and they rejected to help me in this matter.
Could you help me what the solution is, so that I can provide them this thread's link to see and fix the issues?
Even if needed to gather any information, you may ask me so that I can ask them.

This is called plus addressing or sub-addressing its discussed here: Plus Addressing in cPanel | cPanel Blog On cPanel It's automatically enabled, the only changeable variables are whether or not you'd like to create folder names automatically or not - this is discussed here: Manage Email Accounts | cPanel & WHM Documentation For plus addressing issues like this one where the plus address does not exist on a cPanel server, it sounds like an issue on GMAIL's end to be honest. They automatically create filters for plus addressing like this. It's discussed here: 2 hidden ways to get more from your Gmail address If you have access to track delivery, you should be able to identify the message ID of the email. If you can do that and you know how to log in to the server via command line you could potentially run the following and see the entire transaction: exigrep messageID /var/log/exim_mainlog
If that ends with 250 accepted and completed there is nothing that you can do. As far as you're concerned the email transaction went successfully.0 -
Hello, Thanks for your help. The ID ends with 250 and it's accepted. 0
