    How many domains are you migrating? If not too many, you may want to do this in stages. You may want to just migrate to your new server keeping your original nameserver names. This way you only have to update the ns1.server1.com nameserver IPs (at the registrar and their A records). This way your migration is done. You can then move to your new sever name and update the NS records for the domains you can access.

    I believe keeping Original NS names was part of the process noted:
    Ensure all is working fine for each account. Ensure old NS records are in place with new IP.

    But the only reason to change them to new NS would be if you needed different NS names, if you don't - that can stop there as @rackaid noted.
