Thumbnails Generation
Long time cPanel user but new to some features. One of my sites has an image folder with 200+ subfolders with some containing 1000+ image files. I would like to create thumbnails for each of the subfolders. My issue is two fold...
- Is there a way to automate the process rather than doing each subfolder manually?
- Is there a way to automate a 'daily/realtime' process that would address new uploaded images?

How are you making the thumbnails exactly now? 0 -
I'm not at present. I have one volunteer who take photos with her iPhone. Some of the pics are over 8Mb. I have a 200Mb FiOS line and it will take 3-5 seconds for some photos to load. What I would like to do is create a CRON job that will crawl the image folders and make a thumbnail of any file that had not be 'nailed'. Or, even better... implement a process whereby when a volunteer uploaded a photo it would automatically be 'scaled' and 'nailed'. 0 -
Hello, What I need to understand though is what do you do to create the thumbnail, anytime you create one, regardless if you're doing it right now or not. What I'm trying to understand is what the process is so I can point you in a direction to automate it, as this isn't something cPanel does. 0 -
At present I don't use thumbnails. If an image is 8Mb (4096 width) the site downloads the image and the HTML sets the width to 200px. So, I want to create the thumbnails and use them to download/display. I still want to have the larger images though. Yes, I could manually use the Thumbnailer feature to do each folder individually, but looking forward I need a process/method to handle the daily uploads of new photos without causing a lot of work for the volunteers that are not always tech savvy. jdadwilson 0
