Redirects & htaccess issues site migration
Hi, we are in the middle of moving our site from one cpanel host to another.
Looking for some help with redirects on cpanel please.
The cpanel full backup has been imported to the new host successfully.
In cpanel of new host "Domains" section, there are some odd redirects showing up, that are not present in our existing (old) host. They seem to redirect our home page to an internal page:
Since the htaccess files are identical, I can't understand why this would
be.
e.g.
Domains on cpanel at new host shows our main domain redirecting to an
inner page:
Whereas Domains on cpanel at our existing (old) host shows no such redirect:
The closest match to the redirect showing up in cpanel, in htaccess, is
this:
however this is a redirect match command,
affecting only a set of inner pages. This is the first redirectmatch command in htaccess.
We have a lot of redirects in our htaccess file, and I am concerned at this
stage that they will not work on the new server, or that the new cpanel account is
somehow interpreting the redirects differently to our existing host.
I am concerned that this will cause issues when we move the site, which is pending.
Has anyone seen this behaviour before, and how to correct it?
Old host is using 78.0 (build 45)
New host is using cPanel Version 86.0 (build 4)
Many thanks,
Andy
